old bikesSo far, the response to our request for bike donations has been amazing and we have already received 25 bikes taking us halfway towards our target of 50 bikes.  We are extremely grateful and would like to thank anyone who has been generous enough to donate a bike or a spare wheel to support the bike trail initiative.

The donated bikes and their parts will be dusted off, spruced up and painted lime green as the town creates a vibrant bike trail to promote the Tour of Britain in an initiative supported by Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID). It will all add to the festival feel on Saturday 9 September for the Cheltenham Festival of Cycling.

The bike trail initiative, organised by the council and supported by the BID, will see online maps published at cheltenhamcyclingfestival.org.uk/get-cycling/bike-trail/ so visitors can complete the trail.

We haven’t reached our target yet and continue to need residents support and generosity to make the bike trail a success so it can be enjoyed by all.

Help us reach our bike trail target!

Anyone who has a bike of any size or spare wheels to offer can donate them in one of the following ways:

  • Drop them at the Bike Hub at 278 Gloucester Road next to the Cheltenham Railway Station between 10am and 5pm Tuesday to Sunday
  • Drop them at the Municipal Offices ‘goods inwards’ point at the rear of the building during normal office hours (just ring the bell for attention)
  • Or fill in the details in the contact form on our bike trail page to arrange a collection
