Cycle to Work Day is an annual initiative that encourages adults across the UK to give cycling a go, and get on their bike to travel to and from work. Commuting by bike helps to build exercise into your day, reduce congestion on our roads and reduce pollution. It's also fun!
The nationwide cycling event began in 2013 and has grown in popularity year on year. Cycle to Work day is now renowned as the UK’s biggest, one-day celebration of cycle commuting.
In 2017 over 40,000 cyclists took part in the event on 13 September. Around 30 Cheltenham Borough Council employees cycled to the office including some who rarely cycle and one novice rider who had never ridden on the road before.
