With Cheltenham’s first Festival of Cycling happening this Saturday a large crowd is expected to see the 120 elite cyclists will be racing through Cheltenham Town Centre, in a bid to finish first in the penultimate stage of the Tour of Britain.
Chief Inspector Marcus Griffiths says: “As with any large event we would just ask people to be alert to any suspicious activity and report it to police.
“Likewise we would urge people not to leave bags unattended and to report any that are seen to our officers.
“In terms of supporting the event safely as the riders go by, there are some good pieces of advice in available in this video used during the Tour de France”
